Universities' role in breaking down barriers to opportunity

This meeting will be held on the topic of “universities’ role breaking down the barriers to opportunities”. Our panel of speakers will discuss the progress that has been made on access and support for underrepresented groups of students. They will also consider how government and universities can work together to break down remaining barriers.

  • Nick Harrison, Chief Executive, Sutton Trust
  • Professor Tony Moss, Pro Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience, London South Bank University
  • Chelsea McDonagh, first-in-her-family student from an Irish Traveller background who now works as a researcher at the Young Foundation
  • Esther Stimpson, first-in-her family, mature student and single parent currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Northampton
